Extended Project Qualification (EPQ)
The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) is an independent project that carries UCAS points equivalent to half an A-Level and is held in high esteem by universities. The nature and title of the project is entirely your choice and can be in the form of a report, a scientific investigation or an artefact.
Students are taught the skills that enable them to complete the project, such as research, referencing, report-writing, and presenting, and are given individual university-style supervisions by a member of staff.
Our Sixth Form students reflect the school’s focus on innovation. Recently, Jemima Frame was awarded a top national science prize for her ground-breaking research into the diets of domestic cats.

The Sixth Form at Streatham & Clapham High School offers a well-rounded and supportive environment where students can excel academically and personally. With a wide range of A-Level courses, expert teaching, and comprehensive support, SCHS prepares students for the next step in their educational journey, equipping them with the skills and confidence needed to succeed in whichever higher education pathway they choose.
While academic achievement is a key focus, the Sixth Form at SCHS also emphasises the importance of personal development. Students are encouraged to take on leadership roles, participate in community service, and engage in co-curricular and supra-curricular activities. These experiences help to build resilience, communication skills, and a sense of responsibility, all of which are essential for success in both university and future careers.
