The Sixth Form prides itself on the outstanding academic achievements of its students, which stem from a commitment to realising each girl’s potential. Girls are encouraged to take intellectual risks, think independently, and push themselves beyond expectations. The Sixth Form offers a broad selection of A-Level subjects, taught by dedicated experts in small classes that foster rapid progress. This environment not only prepares students for top universities but also for future careers. Independent learning, intellectual curiosity, and active engagement are key to success, supported by regular communication with parents.
Learning extends beyond the classroom, with opportunities for language immersion trips, leadership development and participation in competitions. Sixth Form students are encouraged to explore scholarly activities that make learning an exciting and dynamic experience.
The Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST) offers various scholarship and prize opportunities for pupils already attending its schools, including Streatham & Clapham High School (SCHS). These awards recognise and encourage excellence across a range of academic and creative fields. Scholarships are designed to support students pursuing subjects like Law at university, while other prizes honuor achievements in areas such as creative writing, poetry, and modern foreign languages. Through these recognitions, GDST aims to foster talent, reward dedication, and provide opportunities for pupils to advance their studies and interests. Scholarship and Prize opportunities include: Travel Scholarships, Johnston Memorial Scholarship, Creative Writing Prize, Minerva Prize, Pearson and Silver Award, Somerville & Gurney Award, Laurie Magnus Poetry Prize and the GDST University Scholarships (Lorna Cocking and Mo Bosch).
